Collection: AW25 FOREST GREEN CHECK

The AW25 Forest Green Check collection at Salasai started with a simple idea. We wanted to make clothes that feel familiar, almost like something you have owned for years, yet still feel new enough to get excited about. The forest tone came from looking at samples during a rainy afternoon in the studio. Someone held up a deep green swatch, and everyone quietly knew that was the direction. The check pattern was followed because it felt warm and reassuring.   

Most of the pieces in this range were shaped through slow trial and error rather than a perfect plan. We kept adjusting lengths, loosening seams, and changing small details that only show once you wear the garment properly. At times, it felt like sculpting more than designing. When something finally sat right on the body, we stopped, stepped back, and trusted that feeling.   

The fabrics were chosen with real life in mind. They have that soft hand feel you notice straight away, but they still hold their shape, so the pieces don’t collapse or twist after a few wears. The check is subtle, not loud, the kind of pattern you can wear often without feeling tired of it.   

There is one forest green dress in the collection that has become quite a favourite among the team. It has a simple look but carries itself well, the sort of piece you can wear on many different days. We also included a woman's green dress with the check woven through it, slightly lighter in spirit but still part of the same story.   

This collection isn’t about being dramatic. It is about clothes that feel honest, comfortable, and easy to live in. Pieces you reach for without thinking, because they simply work.
