The 1990’s -esque blending of boudoir and retro colour combinations pay homage to Salasai’s retrospective handwriting introducing decade fusion short suits, puff sleeves, pastel contrasting, ruffles and drawstrings.
The masculine feminine tempo was set by a back and forth of the silhouettes being loose and fitted which is typical Salasai handwriting not forgetting its nod to modern sportswear.
The remix of Salasai yesteryears and contemporary silhouette juxtapositions truly brings to life the heartbeat of spring summer 2021 down to the final details of where this collection was shot to the models chosen to represent the collection were all very tightly knitted in to take us on a visual journey with a plethora of iconic Salasai symbols that adorns the wallpaper print in lilac which is the hero of SS2021.
The hero of this collection is the wallpaper print in lilac, a motif that anchors Salacia's retrospective vision. This print channels intimate nostalgia, playing with soft pastels and bold contrasts. The design palette itself feels like a conversation — grunge meeting romance, with flashes of unisex androgyny disrupting conventional prettiness
